MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Ashley Malfitano
President
I am excited and honored to serve as President on the Friends of TKCU Board. My husband, Brian, is a fireman in Plano, and we have been married for 16 years. We are blessed with three wonderful daughters: Ava, Maddie, and Sophia who are all here at TKCU. When I am not involved with my daughters activities (cross country, swimming, hockey and theatre) I am an entrepreneur. My mom and I are business partners in an eCommerce marketplace and handbag company, Kinsey Rhea. TKCU has been a tremendous blessing for our family, providing a nurturing environment where our daughters can blossom and grow.

Mandi Messina
Director of Membership
I’m Mandi, mom to Londyn and Grayson, and this is our second year at TKCU—we truly love being part of this community. After navigating several school transitions with our family, building strong, connected communities has become something I deeply value. I’m passionate about helping families feel welcomed, supported, and known, and I’m honored to serve in a role that allows me to foster those connections at TKCU. Outside of school, I enjoy staying active, focusing on wellness and supporting my kids in their sports. I’m truly looking forward to connecting with each of you this year!

Ale Sweeney
Director of Media & Communication
“I’m excited to get involved with the PTO next year as both of my kids will be attending the school. I’m a mom who loves spending time with my family, cooking, and enjoying a good cup of coffee. I also speak Spanish and would be happy to help support our school community in any way I can. I’m really looking forward to connecting with everyone!”

Kristen Burgess
Treasurer
Hi, I’m Kristen Burgess. I am happy to have the opportunity to serve the TKCU families as the treasurer for TKCU friends board this year. My husband Ben and I have been married for 23 years. We have two kids, Harper(13) and Grayson(10). We have been blessed to be a part of the TKC family since its beginning and part of the TKCU family since the start of our daughter’s 6th grade year in Fall 2024. Our son attends at Baker elementary in Prosper ISD. My husband owns Restoration Roofing NTX, a roofing and construction company in our area. I work at the company along side him and our other staff. We love spending time outdoors and going on many adventures as a family. I look forward to helping serve our school and our families at TKCU.

Christine Magee
Secretary
Hi, I’m Christine. I have two kids at the school—Chase in Purple and Ellie in Yellow—so I’m pretty well immersed in all things elementary at this point. Although it is only our first year, we have loved the TKCU community. I have also loved giving back to the school because I have a heart for service and having my kids at TKCU has brought such a peace to our educational and spiritual journey. I’m excited to serve as PTO Secretary this year. I tend to be the one who keeps track of the details, writes things down, and makes sure nothing falls through the cracks (whether people want me to or not), so this role felt like a natural fit. I’m looking forward to helping keep everyone informed and getting to know more families along the way.

Maggie Tarsinos
Director of Fundraising
I’m a proud mom of three boys with a love for travel, music, and animals. I enjoy making memories with my family and am always excited for a new adventure. I’m honored to be serving on the TKCU PTO board and look forward to supporting our school, connecting with other families, and helping make this a great year for our students and community.

Kate McBride
Vice President
I’m Kate McBride, mom to Andrew (8th grade) and Connor (6th grade). We’ve been part of the TKCU community since the very beginning. I’m excited to serve a second term on the PTO board and continue building on that experience. I bring a background in leadership, consulting, event planning, and administration. I genuinely enjoy working in a team-oriented environment. I’m organized, people-focused, and always willing to jump in when needed. Most importantly, I’m passionate about creating meaningful experiences for our students and helping strengthen the connection between families and our school.
